Award-winning London based club launches an all-inclusive club app

The award-winning London based club, Hendon, launches an all-inclusive club app. Former EGU regional manager, Peter Dickson, GM of Hendon Golf Club, was looking for a way to include all aspects of his club and to allow both members and visitors to be able to see the upcoming events, book and for the club to be able to send out direct communications to them.
After looking at a number of different options available on the market – including the club’s own software app – Hendon have chosen to partner with CourseMate, golf club app specialists.
“CourseMate was the only app available that could allow members to login seamlessly into their own accounts via our club software and allow visitors to book tee times” said Pete. "The alternatives we have looked at, were unable to combine this within one App. The ability to provide live scoring will be a great asset to the Club and will be used for the England Ladies County week that we are hosting this year”
It wasn’t just the centralisation of the club’s own systems that attracted Hendon. The CourseMate team designed the app to reflect the club’s image. By using imagery of the club’s own unique course for each section, it offered that professional yet personal feel to the app, unmatched by any other offering.
Filled with golfer rich features such as club and social diary, F&B, GPS course guides and scorecards that take the guesswork out of scoring by calculating strokes taken to hole index and the individual’s own handicap!
Alongside tee bookings, the app provides Hendon with a sales and marketing solution with their own club promotion section and an instant, unlimited push notification system that directs users to either events or promotions to enhance participation and uptake.
Having full control of content within that app means that Hendon GC can keep the app fresh and up to date, creating a win-win for both the club and golfing community.

The Results

The first 6 months of app launch has seen:
  • Hendon's member adoption is 91.4%
  • 93% of those use the app weekly - the majority (67%) using it 1-3 times per week and 22% of members use it 4-5 times per week
  • Logging into their V1 account is most popular section
  • Followed by booking into BRS, then the club's promotion section and using the GPS Course Guides
