January 19, 2023The Club Pro: 5 Video Ideas To Engage And Grow This Winter
Contact Your Country's Representatives
Winter is the perfect time to showcase your skills, build your relationships and grow your client base. Shooting videos is a great way to do this as it creates a personal touch and what better way to show the club’s members that you really know your stuff!
You don’t need to create world class videos or have an entire production team on hand to become front of mind for all things golfing and make additional revenue at the same time. All you need is a smartphone and maybe a friend to assist with filming you or to showcase your products.
Here are 5 video ideas to get you kick started:
1) Coaching courses
Create a mini coaching series with content ranging from how to fix a hook or a slice to creating a mindset routine that enables them to have the best round ever.
These videos can be short intro’s to your one-to-one lessons with the ultimate aim of getting members to sign up to a session, so don’t forget to tell them how they can do this!
2) Tips and tricks
What better way to show off your skills than to show your members what you are truly capable of – without bruising any egos!
Tip videos can range from “Top tips to get out of a bunker” to best way to approach xyz hole at your club.
And if you have some amazing trick shots up your sleeve, why not dazzle them with it? Or set your club’s members the challenge of beating you!
3) How to make a golf course at home
A fun one to do over the winter months. Just because they can’t get out onto the course as much, it doesn’t mean that they have to miss out.
Include videos like mini golf for the whole family (you might get some new juniors next season!) and different golf games to challenge players of all ages and abilities.
Just make sure that if they are turning the living room effectively into an adventure golf course – complete with a sofa fort – that their significant other doesn’t mind!
4) Review products
This is both loved by members and a great way to earn you extra cash.
Review the latest or the most popular products or items of clothing. Tell them why it’s so awesome and why they should buy it from you.
With Christmas coming up, you could do a review on the best stocking fillers or the 10 ultimate gifts to give dad/mum for Christmas – all coming from your pro-shop of course!
5) Interviews – get to know the team
Create a personal touch by letting your members know who you all are. It’s amazing that simply adding in a few personal details you can build/improve customer relationships.
Having something common makes members relate to you which naturally improves relationships or it can start a talking point for you to build from.
Why not introduce the grounds team too? That will also give you plenty of footage about course conditions and what the upcoming plans for the coming season are.
Being Seen!
Whilst YouTube or Vimeo are the perfect hosting tools for video, it is not the best way to advertise to your immediate audience (unless of course you already have a good following on that platform). So make sure that your video is included in your club’s weekly email; on the club’s Facebook page and for the best uptake ensure that – like our clients often do – your video is showcased on your club’s app.
Doing this regularly is the best way to reach and engage members to create a greater awareness of what services and products you offer.
