April 7, 2020Engage Your Members With These Great Photo Competition Ideas
We’re all great photographers – right? Then why not let your members and team express their inner creative geniuses by setting up a few of these photo competitions - not only will it help you reach out to them it will also increase your social media presence.
Who's the Cutest of them All?
Who doesn’t like a super cute or funny image of an animal or small child? Encourage them to share some details about the photo. Sharing information will help build the community and get to know other members better too.
Caption This
Always a favourite is the photo caption competition. You can use stock photos (type “free images” into Google to get a plethora of sites offering free images/photos) or maybe some amusing personal images of club staff and members - with their permission of course!
Give Us A Name
If a member has a new pet perhaps they can post an image of it and then the other members (and staff) can pitch in with suggestions for his/her name. The owner then chooses the best one. This can also work with young livestock too – after all who can resist naming a cute lamb “Minty”?!
Answers On The Back Of A Postcard
Take or use old photo(s) of the surrounding area (or famous places) and get them guessing where it is. You can easily get them more involved by letting daily winner can then post the next day’s picture.
Guess which hole?
Test your member’s knowledge of the club! Send out a series of images over the next couple of weeks.
Keep Them Amused
Got a funny photo? Lighten the mood and put a smile on their face with your photo fails. Encourage your members and staff to share theirs too. You can also do this in a YBF style with sharing a funny video instead/as well as a photo.
Post winning photos on your club’s website and app. When it comes to picking a winner, you can use best image, first to get it right or you can put the winning names into a hat and pick one at random.
Prizes at this time doesn’t seem to matter too much, even put up for grabs the club’s mug seems to be going down well. It’s more about having fun and participation – prize or no prize.
